Megan, 17 year-old confident and opinionated cheerleader in high school is unsupported by her parents in thinking that she is a lesbian. They send Megan to a rehabilitation camp "True Directions" which run by homophobic counselor Mary Brown. She started her rehabilitation as admit herself is a homosexual and continue her training with others.

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) categorized as Audience Reception of Queer Theory which is assessing popular cultural that telling and giving information about homosexual to non-straight audience. It expressed the feeling and mindset of a homosexual from tangled and admit about their sexual orientation and habit. Next, the decision of whether they choose to obey or disobey about the training that given homophobic counselor Mary Brown.

In conclusion, gender never is the problem of loving someone.
